Spring Break
Good evening CMS families, this is Mr. Morales. First, let me say thank you to everyone. This last year has been filled with many challenges and things no one saw coming. As we prepare to reopen schools, we are attempting to plan and adjust for any new possible scenarios. Keeping everyone safe has been our main focus as we reopen. We have taken the current master schedule and split it into 3 separate master schedules in attempt to meet everyone’s academic needs and to ensure proper social distancing guidelines. Normally, the master schedule is created over months, this work was done over the last few weeks. We have attempted to meet everyone’s needs, but it is not perfect. If you have questions or concerns, please call us and we will do the best we can to accommodate, but please know there are limitations in the new schedules. Starting Monday, April 5th, we will implement our new in-person schedules and new distance learning schedules. If your child’s last name starts with a letter from A-K, they have been assigned to Cohort A, the morning group. If they have a last name that starts with a letter from L-Z, they will be in Cohort B, the afternoon group. However, there are exceptions due to scheduling conflicts. We were not able to offer all the needed classes in the morning and afternoon. If your child is one of the exceptions, the office will be making calls to families on Friday, March 19th. All students, whether they are returning to in-person instruction or staying in distance learning, will need to log-in to their third period class on Monday April 5th. Mondays will now be Asynchronous learning days. Students will be assigned work to be completed independently and attendance will be taken through third period every Monday. In-person instruction starts on Tuesday April 6th for 6th grade students. In-person instruction for 7th and 8th grade students starts Tuesday, April 13th. Cohort A instruction starts at 7:50 and ends at 10:45. Cohort B instruction starts at 11:50 and ends at 2:45. Students need to arrive on campus 5 minutes prior to instruction. Tardies due to traffic will be excused. Students must be picked up promptly at the end of instruction. In order to meet social distancing guidelines and conduct proper cleaning measures between cohorts, these requirements are needed. If these requirements prove to be to difficult, we will need to place the students in distance learning. Any 7th grade students who has not had their TDAP and Varicella immunizations have been placed in distance learning as per state law, they are not allowed to attend in-person without a proper medical exemption on file in the health office. All students returning in person will be required to wear a proper mask on campus at all times. A more detailed letter about reopening should be arriving at your home soon. Finally, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing students on campus once again. Blessings

LCAP Central School District is in the process of developing the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP) for the 2021-22 academic school year. A key component of this process is to gather input from stakeholders to determine goals, actions, and budget priorities for the district. Surveys provide opportunities for students, staff, parents, guardians, and community members to share feedback in the state priority areas, including student achievement, parental involvement, student engagement, school climate and basic services. The 2020-21 survey also contains items specific to Distance Learning to gather information to inform the district’s Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan. Your participation in this survey is critical in this decision-making process. We value your feedback and voice and appreciate your time in completing this survey. Please submit your responses by Friday, March 19th. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=9bJ-JOofak-9HIUvixLq5woZPVfkojNHmt3Yd-Dao_xUMFRCTTVURTNIMVQxWFRJWDJOVVRXTFJIVC4u
