LCAP
Central School District is in the process of developing the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP) for the 2021-22 academic school year. A key component of this process is to gather input from stakeholders to determine goals, actions, and budget priorities for the district. Surveys provide opportunities for students, staff, parents, guardians, and community members to share feedback in the state priority areas, including student achievement, parental involvement, student engagement, school climate and basic services. The 2020-21 survey also contains items specific to Distance Learning to gather information to inform the district’s Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan. Your participation in this survey is critical in this decision-making process. We value your feedback and voice and appreciate your time in completing this survey. Please submit your responses by Friday, March 19th.

This is a friendly reminder of our upcoming dates. On February 16th and 18th, tomorrow and Thursday, from 2 pm to 4 pm, your student will receive their high school registration packet- drive thru style. If your student is not attending Alta Loma or Rancho Cucamonga High School, you will receive information regarding which high school they are coded to attend and how to get an intra-/inter-district transfer. Please email me if you should have any questions at lrush@csd.k12.ca.us
Have a great evening!

Students grades 6-8 will be taking remote CAASPP Interim Assessments in English Language Arts this week and in 7th and 8th grade math classes next week. Teachers may be assigning asynchronous work to support smaller group administration during these district assessment windows. We encourage students to do their best on the tests!

Good Evening CMS Parents & Guardians,
Just a quick follow-up clarification on the communication I sent out yesterday regarding dates for IAB district benchmark assessments. Grades 6-8 will have English Language Arts IABs February 16th-26th. Grades 7 and 8 will have Math IABs February 22nd-March 5th. Grade 6 will have Math IABs March 8th-19th. Thank you.

Good Evening CMS Parents and Guardians,
This is an important message from assistant principal, Julie McKissick, regarding upcoming IAB assessments which provide valuable information on academic growth and practice for spring state tests. The English Language Arts IABs will be given sometime February 16th-February 26th. The Math (Ratios & Proportions) IABs will be given some time March 8th-March 19th. Your students’ teachers will inform them of their exact testing days. ALL students should arrive to ALL classes at the beginning of every period for their teachers to take daily attendance. After attendance is taken, then teachers will be giving assessments to half of their students in class at-a-time while they dismiss the other half to complete independent or asynchronous work. Teachers will inform your students which days they are testing and which days they are doing independent work. Finally, students CAN take these assessments using their own computers as long as they have working cameras which are required by the testing websites for monitoring security. Students CANNOT use cell phones. If your student needs to request a district laptop device, then please do so immediately by emailing Dana Caldwell at the district office. Her email is: dcaldwell@csd.k12.ca.us. Please let me know if you have any questions @ (909) 987-1788. Thank you and I hope you have a lovely evening.

Good Evening Cucamonga Middle School Parents and Guardians,
This year has been challenging and we want to provide extra supports for our students whenever possible. This is another reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, February 3rd at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., there will be an online Zoom parent presentation provided by our Central School District’s mental health counselors to review the K-6 Suicide Prevention Curriculum all K-6 teachers will be presenting to their students in the next few weeks. It is the same presentation at both times. School districts are now required by Law AB 1767 to provide Grades K-6 age appropriate suicide prevention education. Please register to attend one of these presentations by clicking the link below. The flyer and link for registration can also be found on the bottom, right-hand side of the front page of our Cucamonga Middle School website under, “Mental Health Matters”. You will also see there the link for the Grades 7 & 8 suicide prevention presentation previously shown.
