Dear CSD Staff, Students, and Families,
Excitement is in the air as we prepare for the first day of the 2022-23 school year! My name is Dr. Amy Nguyen-Hernandez, and it is my honor to be the Superintendent of Central School District.
Some important information as we get ready to greet our students for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 3, 2022:
- In alignment with the current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines, we are highly recommending, but not requiring, staff and students wear a face mask. The choice is yours. No one will be asked to put one on or take one off. If you or your child forget your face mask, but want to wear one, stop by the front office and you will be provided one for free.
- We will continue to provide FREE breakfast and lunch at each school to ALL students daily. Breakfast and lunch menus are posted on each school’s website page and updated monthly.
- We’re delighted to be welcoming our adult volunteers back on campus. In accordance with the current health orders, all volunteers will need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have a negative test result prior to volunteering at our schools. For more information about volunteering at your child’s school, please follow up with your school.
- This year, CSD has two childcare services at our schools. For a monthly fee, we have our Kid/Teen Central program at each of our schools for before and after school care for all students. In addition, for those who qualify, there is a grant-funded, free Think Together after school program at our elementary schools. Spaces are limited in both programs. Visit our website for more information.
We are also excited to share that by the end of September, we will be utilizing the same communication system currently used by our feeder high schools in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. ParentSquare will allow for easy communication by text, emails, and phone calls to our families. More information will be coming soon.
To stay connected with what is happening in the district and in our schools, please regularly visit our website at www.centralsd.net.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful school year as we work on updating our district’s vision, mission, and strategic plan. We encourage you to participate in this important work as we meet in planning sessions throughout this year. #TogetherWeAreCSD.
Sincerely,
Dr. Amy Nguyen-Hernandez
