Developer Fees

Developer fees for residential and commercial development that school districts can charge are stipulated by the State Allocation Board (SAB) and adjusted in January of even numbered years in accordance with Education Code 17620 and Government Code 65995, et seq.  These fees are designated to help provide a source of revenue to meet housing needs because of student enrollment growth generated by new construction.

To confirm that an address is within our school district boundaries, please check the Find My School app and the district's boundary map.

To obtain a School District Verification form, please contact the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

To pay developer fees, the property owner/developer is to bring the following items with them to the district office:

  1. City-issued School District Verification form

  2. Payment for the exact amount (see below)

When visiting our office, please inform the reception staff in the lobby that you would like to pay developer fees.

An appointment is not required. However, we ask that office hours be confirmed in advance to ensure that staff is available.

We welcome inquiries to confirm the estimated amount due. When contacting our office, be prepared to provide the property address and other details from the above-mentioned School District Verification form so that we may provide an accurate estimate.

Payment of developer fees must be paid in person or via postal mail. Online payments are not accepted at this time. Fees may be paid via cashier's check or money order made payable to Central School District (checks/credit cards not accepted). If paying in cash, it must be "exact" as we do not have the ability to make change.

Once the property owner/developer provides our office with the School District Verification form, then our district's application form needs to be filled out and provide payment for the developer fees. Our administrator will review the two forms and the fee payment in order to authorize a certificate of compliance. The property owner/developer will then be responsible for submitting the certificate of compliance to the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

Please note that the current developer fee rate in effect at the time of imposition of fees/payment will apply.

To request a refund due to plan changes, abandoned project, expired permit, project exemption, or an incorrect fee charge must be made in writing and include proof of payment made and all other pertinent documentation related to the refund request.
